Famous playback singer S. Janaki died on Saturday at a private hospital in Mysore. She was 88 years old. His funeral will be held today at 5 pm at his ancestral farmhouse in HD Kote taluka of Mysore. S. Janaki had trouble breathing on Friday night. After this he was admitted to the hospital, where he breathed his last. S. Janaki recorded more than 48 thousand songs in her career. Most of these are in Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam languages. S. Janaki is known for Hindi songs like ‘Bol Baby Bol (Meri Jung), Prabhu More Avgun (Sur Sangam), O Maria (Sagar), Gopala-Gopala (Humse Hai Muqabla). S. Janaki has been awarded four National Film Awards and several state-level honours. PM Modi S. Tribute to Janaki S. At the same time, actor Rajinikanth also expressed grief over his demise. Janaki had rejected Padma Bhushan. She started her singing career in 1957. His first Hindi song was in the 1958 film ‘Miss 58’, whose music was composed by G. Ramanathan had prepared it. In 2013, the Government of India announced the award of Padma Bhushan to him, but he did not accept the honour. He said that South Indian artists often get recognition at the national level late and they were given this honor very late. He also said that South Indian artists do not get their due rights. Janaki Amma of the music world, S sang songs for 60 years. Janaki was known as Janaki Amma in the world of music. She always said that singing is a gift given by God. She also gave credit for her success to the musicians and lyricists. The duo of him and SP Balasubrahmanyam is considered to be one of the most successful duos of Indian film music. Both of them sang thousands of duets together. After being active for nearly six decades, she herself announced in 2017 that she would no longer make new recordings. She said, ‘I have sung a lot, now I want to rest.’ He punctuated his singing career with a concert in Mysore. Son died in January. S. Janaki was married to V. Ramprasad in the year 1959. He died due to heart attack in the year 1997. At the same time, his only son Murali Krishna used to run his audio business. Murali died of a heart attack in January 2026 at the age of 65. …………..
