South actress Samantha Ruthprabhu has confirmed the news of pregnancy at an event on Wednesday. There were reports of the actress being pregnant after her baby bump was visible while wearing a T-shirt at an event. The actress has now told that she is also going to take a break from films for motherhood.
Samantha Ruthaprabhu arrived with husband Raj Nidimoru at the success meet of her recently released film Maa Inti Bangaram on Wednesday. While talking to the media at the event, Samantha confirmed her pregnancy and said, ‘After Maa Inti Bangaram, I will take a short break considering my condition. I will have to take maternity leave. After this I will return with another film for my fans.
Pregnancy revealed due to baby bump visible in T-shirt
Samantha Ruthprabhu’s film Maa Inti Bangaram is releasing in theaters on June 19. This film is getting a lot of appreciation from the audience. Recently, to celebrate the success of the film, Samantha was a part of a fan meet-up, where she paired denim with a white T-shirt. While coming out of the event, everyone’s eyes were on her baby bump, which was clearly visible in the fitted T-shirt.

Samantha Ruthprabhu married The Family Man director Raj Nidimoru on 1 December 2025. It was a private wedding, in which only close relatives and friends of Samantha-Raj attended. The couple had a Bhoot Shuddhi marriage in the ancient yogic tradition at the Linga Bhairavi temple of Sadhguru’s Isha Foundation.
Samantha Ruthprabhu had made the official announcement by posting pictures from the wedding. He wrote with the pictures- ‘01.12.2025.’

Raj Nidimoru, 50, is a filmmaker. The filmmaker duo of him and DK (Krishna Dasarakothapalli) is quite popular in the film industry. After doing software engineering from UK, both of them started their career together in the film industry with the 2002 film Shaadi.com. After this, both of them wrote, produced and directed the film 99 as independent filmmakers from the year 2003. After this, both of them wrote and directed films like Shor in the City, Go Goa Gone, Happy Ending, A Gentleman.
From the year 2019, Raj and DK entered OTT and directed-produced the Manoj Bajpayee starrer series The Family Man. Further he made series like Fergie, Citadel and Guns aur Gulab. The duo of Raj and DK has written and produced the Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao starrer film Stree.
Samantha took divorce from Naga Chaitanya in 2021
Samantha Ruthprabhu and Naga Chaitanya were seen together in the film Ye Maya Chesave. On the sets of this film, both of them started liking each other and got into a relationship. After being in a relationship for 7 years, Samantha married South star Naga Chaitanya in the year 2017. Both were married according to Hindu and Christian customs.
After marriage, Samantha changed her surname to Akkineni, however, in July 2021, she changed her name from Samantha Akkineni to Samantha Ruthprabhu. After this, news of their divorce started coming to the fore and both of them announced their divorce in October 2021. Naga Chaitanya married actress Shobhita Dhulipala after 2 years of divorce from Samantha.
