Stalin made this comment while targeting the style of Chief Minister Vijay’s address in the Tamil Nadu Assembly.
A new controversy has arisen in Tamil Nadu politics regarding personal comments. Leader of Opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin, in an indirect personal comment on Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, said that a wife is searching for her husband in Chengalpattu court.
Stalin made this comment while targeting the style of Chief Minister Vijay’s address in the Tamil Nadu Assembly. He said that the whole of Tamil Nadu knows the story of the wife searching for her husband in Chengalpattu court and the Chief Minister should now shed the actor’s image and behave like a Chief Minister.
Although Stalin did not take anyone’s name, his remarks are being linked to Chief Minister Vijay and his estranged wife Sangeeta Sornalingam. Sangeeta had filed a divorce petition in December last year, the hearing on which is going on in Chengalpattu Family Welfare Court.
It is wrong to dismiss the party as just an actor’s party: Vijay
Earlier, CM Vijay had answered the questions raised in the Assembly regarding his film career. He had said that some people say that he became the Chief Minister straight from the film set, but it is just a “reel”.
Vijay said in his address that most of the people first form political parties and later go among the public, whereas he first went among the public and gained support and then formed the party. He also said that it is wrong to dismiss his party as just an actor’s party.
He also reminded that his party Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) had fought the 2026 assembly elections alone without any alliance.

DMK makes personal attacks when allegations of corruption arise: TVK
After Stalin’s remarks, TVK responded on social media platform X and attacked DMK. The party alleged that whenever Vijay accuses the DMK of corruption, instead of replying, personal attacks are made.
TVK said that the opposition has no answer to the allegations and is only playing politics to cling to power. Calling it a low-level political attack, the party said that the public understands such statements.
The DMK government was voted out of power in the recently held assembly elections in Tamil Nadu. Since then, allegations and counter-allegations between TVK and DMK are continuously increasing in the state politics.
Vijay said- The party will bring back the public money misused in the name of fund collection.
Vijay targeted DMK
Speaking in the Assembly today, actor-turned-politician Vijay launched a scathing attack on the DMK. He said his government would bring back the public money allegedly misappropriated in the name of collecting party funds.
Continuing his speech, Vijay said that unlike the previous DMK government, the TVK will never indulge in corruption nor allow anyone to “loot” the government treasury.
His sharp remarks drew immediate and strong opposition from the opposition. Udhayanidhi protested by raising a ‘point of order’ and said that the Chief Minister should say such a thing only when he has evidence.
