Thalapathy Vijay (Joseph Vijay Chandrasekhar) was born on 22 June 1974 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
A boy, whose father was a famous director of Tamil films. The father wanted his son to become a doctor, but the son wanted to become a film hero. When his father refused to let him come to the movies, he left a note at home – ‘Don’t try to find me.’ There was a commotion in the family. Later he was found in a nearby theater and the father brought him home.
Ultimately the father bowed down to his son’s stubbornness and talent. He launched him in films, but the very first film was a flop. He was made fun of for his looks and acting, yet he did not give up. Gradually a series of hit, superhit and blockbuster films started and he became the biggest superstar of Tamil cinema.
Then at the peak of his career, he left acting and chose the path of politics. Formed a party and after 2 years, by winning 108 seats in the first assembly elections, he became the Chief Minister, changing the 59 year old political equation of Tamil Nadu.
